RTM and Astro Expand Partnership to Strengthen Local Content

1 Jul 2026

Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Astro have reached a new agreement to expand their long-standing partnership, ensuring continued access to RTM’s television channels while strengthening collaboration to support Malaysia’s local content ecosystem.

Under the renewed arrangement, TV1, TV2 and TV Okey will remain available on Astro, NJOI and the Sooka streaming platform. In addition, Astro subscribers will soon gain access to Berita RTM, Sukan+, and RTM’s radio stations, further expanding the public broadcaster’s reach across multiple platforms.

Beyond channel distribution, the two organisations will work together on initiatives to promote local content development, nurture creative talent, and build a more sustainable and competitive media industry. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring Malaysians continue to enjoy quality public service broadcasting while adapting to changing audience viewing habits and evolving digital technologies.
