Public Service Media (PSM) has signed an agreement with the Maldives Amateur Radio Society to expand access to its religious radio channel, Dheenuge Adu, in Dharavandhoo, Baa Atoll.
Under the partnership, PSM will provide the necessary broadcasting equipment to enable the transmission of the channel, enhancing access to religious programming for local communities. The initiative forms part of PSM’s broader commitment to extending the reach of its public service broadcasting across the Maldives.
PSM Managing Director Ahmed Shakeeb said the collaboration reflects the broadcaster’s mission to make its audio and video services accessible to all Maldivians, while working with external partners to improve nationwide coverage.
The Maldives Amateur Radio Society said the project is the first step in a wider plan to expand the service to additional islands through future partnerships with local councils, further strengthening community access to public broadcasting services.
