[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Pakistan’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a Rs13 billion supplementary grant for Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) for the 2026–27 financial year, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting the country’s national public broadcaster. The funding will be released in quarterly tranches to ensure the continuity of PTV’s broadcasting operations and essential services.
Alongside the funding approval, the ECC requested the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to present a comprehensive financial sustainability plan within the next two months. The plan is expected to outline measures that will strengthen PTV’s long-term operational resilience and support its continued role as Pakistan’s national public service broadcaster.
The decision underscores the government’s continued investment in maintaining a strong public broadcasting service while encouraging strategic reforms to ensure PTV remains well positioned to serve audiences across the country in an evolving media landscape.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
