Bangladesh Betar Engages Young Voices Through National Radio Debate Competition

4 Aug 2026

Bangladesh Betar has launched its Radio Debate Competition 2026, providing a national platform for young people to strengthen their communication, critical-thinking and public-speaking skills.

The competition brings together student participants to debate contemporary issues affecting society and the country’s future. Topics featured in the programme include the relationship between technological progress and human values, as well as the respective responsibilities of governments and individuals in addressing climate change.

By bringing structured debate to radio and digital platforms, Bangladesh Betar is encouraging young audiences to examine complex issues from different perspectives, develop evidence-based arguments and participate more actively in public dialogue.

The initiative also demonstrates radio’s continuing value as an educational and participatory medium. Alongside informing and entertaining audiences, public broadcasters can create spaces in which young people express their views, listen to alternative perspectives and engage constructively with matters of national and global importance.

The competition forms part of Bangladesh Betar’s wider commitment to educational broadcasting, youth engagement and the development of informed and responsible citizens.
