The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC Australia) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Lanka’s Maharaja Media Network (MMN), marking a significant step in strengthening media collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region.

The agreement expands an existing partnership between the two organisations and establishes a broader framework for content sharing, co-productions, digital storytelling, and professional exchange across television, radio, and digital platforms.

Building on a relationship that began in 2022, the partnership aims to enhance regional storytelling, support public-interest media, and create new opportunities for collaboration between media professionals in Australia and Sri Lanka.

ABC International Head Claire M. Gorman said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening cultural and media ties across the Indo-Pacific while exploring new opportunities in content development and digital media innovation.

The partnership also supports greater regional engagement through networks such as the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), further promoting the exchange of stories, ideas, and expertise across member broadcasters.
