The Pacific Media Partnership Conference 2026 (PMPC 2026) officially commenced on 2 June in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, bringing together broadcasters, media executives, policymakers, and industry stakeholders from across the Pacific region under the theme *“Resilient Voices: Empowering Blue Pacific Media.”*
Jointly organised by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) of Papua New Guinea, the conference serves as an important platform for Pacific broadcasters to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of media in the region.
The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks from Kora Nou, Managing Director of NBC Papua New Guinea, who underscored the critical role broadcasters play in informing, educating, and connecting communities across the Pacific. Indra Singh, Director of News at the ABU, delivered the address of ABU Secretary-General Ahmed Nadeem, who was unable to attend the conference in person.

The discussion also explored leadership transition and succession planning, recognising the importance of nurturing the next generation of media leaders to ensure continuity, innovation, and organisational resilience within Pacific media institutions.
The conference continues over the coming days with discussions focusing on media sustainability, emerging technologies, audience engagement, content partnerships, and the future of Pacific storytelling. Through dialogue and collaboration, PMPC 2026 aims to strengthen the collective voice of Pacific broadcasters and support a more connected, resilient, and innovative media landscape across the region.
