Cambodia National Television (TVK) is gearing up for a significant technological transformation following high-level bilateral talks in Phnom Penh. Minister of Information Neth Pheaktra met with a senior Vietnamese delegation to finalize a comprehensive 2026–2030 information cooperation plan aimed at modernizing Cambodia’s state media infrastructure.
A major focus of the strategy involves upgrading TVK through direct technical cooperation with Vietnam Television (VTV). The agreement will provide TVK with essential digital equipment and infrastructure support to transition away from legacy setups toward advanced digital content production, social media broadcasting, and modernized archive management.
Beyond hardware, the pact places a heavy emphasis on upskilling TVK’s newsroom. Minister Pheaktra requested specialized training programs and annual scholarships for Cambodian broadcasting officials. These courses will train TVK staff in cutting-edge industry demands, including AI-enhanced journalism, digital publishing, media monitoring, and advanced fact-checking workflows to combat fake news.
